Learn how to paint in Watercolours.
Julie will guide you step by step through the application of watercolours, helping you develop the skills to harness this medium’s beautiful transparent qualities. You'll practice and refine techniques to create depth, atmosphere, and luminosity in your paintings.
We will cover essential topics such as paper selection, watercolour pigments, and their interaction with water, learning how to balance light and shadow to bring your artwork to life. Through guided exercises in wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, and layering techniques, you'll explore subjects like still life, food, and florals, building both confidence and creativity.
You will take home a collection of your own beautiful watercolour artworks—perfect for framing, gifting, or continuing your creative journey! 🎨✨
All materials—papers, paints, brushes, and morning tea—are provided, but if you have your own watercolours and brushes, feel free to bring them along!
Please BYO your lunch
I will encourage you to embrace the challenge of pushing your boundaries, to let go of expectations, to be open to learn from your mistakes, but most importantly, have fun and enjoy the process! After all, art making is just practice.
