This series of three paintings captures the vastness of the Tasmanian landscape, with rolling hills, deep valleys, and rich, earthy fields stretching into the distance. Framed by the ever-present mountains—especially here, where my studio is nestled among the Great Western Tiers—the land is both grounding and expansive. Above, a moody, sometimes muddy sky looms, its heavy clouds tinted with soft whites and shifting blue-grey hues. I am endlessly mesmerised by the contrast between the land’s vibrancy and the sky’s brooding presence, a dynamic interplay that reflects the region’s rugged beauty and ever-changing weather.
