Drawing techniques - familiarise yourself with essential mark-making, shapes and textures, all while building confidence in your drawing skills. You will experiment with a variety of lead pencils and pastels and create a Still Life using the contour drawing method using various drawing mediums.
Value – learn to recognise values in objects to categorise shapes, which will help you understand tonal shading and enhance realism in your artwork. You will draw and render still life objects using a 3-step value scale.
The personality of Charcoal - explore how charcoal creates bold artwork by emphasising shades and tonal values. Engage in mark-making exercises to uncover its potential, while noting that its messiness and tendency to smudge contribute to its expressive nature. You will use charcoal to create a landscape.
The Studio is above the Golf Club building at Quamby Estate (see photo reference).
Park your car in the car park on the left as you drive in.
There are 17 stairs to the studio.
