This workshop introduces creative ways to express yourself through mark-making* and a variety of hands-on applications.
You’ll be introduced to a range of materials—like ink, resist, charcoal, pencil, watercolour, collage, and mono printing—with clear demonstrations to guide you through how each one can be used effectively.
We’ll take inspiration from still life and natural objects, then explore how to express these visually through a variety of approaches. You’ll have the chance to try out each technique hands-on, building confidence and expanding your personal visual language as you go.
You’ll create a body of work during the sessions—the plan is to learn new skills and create work that can either be gifted, framed, developed further or used as a springboard for ongoing exploration.
All art mediums (if you have favourite art items e.g. brushes, paints, please bring along)

Art Fundamentals II is designed to strengthen your creative practice, build your knowledge base and skills, deepen your understanding of visual elements, and support more intentional choices in your artmaking.
*Mark-making is all about the different lines, patterns, and textures you create in your art—whether it’s lines, dots, smudges, or scribbles made with pencils, brushes, mono printing, sticks, or sponges. It’s a way to add feeling, movement, and detail, bringing personality and energy to your work. Practicing mark-making helps you get comfortable with your materials, experiment freely, and develop your own unique visual style—like building your personal handwriting on the page..
